When we genuinely praise our kids, their self-esteem grows. Share your awe in their efforts and less in their results. Too often, we praise the way things look or the outcome. Instead, praise the effort that goes into an activity with a statement like: “You worked hard on that, good for you!” or “Practice makes perfect, you must feel awesome!” What are some of your favorite phrases you use to affirm your kids?
