Our Story – The Origins of Inspiring Moms
Boy meets girl. They marry and have a baby twelve months later. Girl realizes that college prepared her for lots of careers, but motherhood was not one of them. Oops!
Girl is still mystified that no one told her how hard said job of being a mom was. All she remembers is her friends and family repeating that she was going to be “great” and that she would be a “natural” mom. Whatever that means.
But good wishes and the best intentions only take you so far. And most people's 'natural' instincts don't tell them how to juggle real situations like trying to wrangle a toddler on the go and comfort a baby who screams every time you put her down for a nap. Amy discovered early on that without direction, expert advice and support, she was not going to be successful as a full-time mom. So she made it her job to search out the experts in her new field by attending classes ranging from psychology to early childhood development.
And while she learned a great deal in school, she became convinced that being the best mom she could be required more than instinct or reading lots of books. She needed to approach motherhood as a career, with the same attention to detail and sense of professionalism she brought to her job. Sure enough, her confidence and effectiveness grew. Ironically enough, so did her number of children. She was thriving and her family was thriving along with her.
Amy’s success and happiness did not go unnoticed. She became a resource to many moms, not only her friends, but also to strangers who were attracted to her energy and confidence. Whether at a park, restaurant or school, moms had questions and would gather to hear Amy’s insights. The smile on her face was proof enough that she loved her job and the happy kids along side her confirmed it. Inspiring Moms has become her baby (that would be number eight,) and she is passionate about raising the success and happiness of all moms and their families.
