Praise Effort and Work Ethic, Not The Medal

There is enormous value in praising the process, as we celebrate our kids’ successes. It’s not the medal, it’s the hours of work that lead to the medal–the effort, perseverance, and patience. When we as parents recognize that and honor it, we send a powerful message. Cheer on effort and your kids will build the skills that will help them successfully achieve their goals throughout life. Now that’s a victory!
